Sky-Banana Review 2.0

Upon reading Brentosaur's Sky-Banana review, I thought I'd do a follow up review to give a different persepective on this infamous character known as Sky-Banana...

Mind you it's a long forgotten figure from the diaclone series before transformers were really transformers. Thankfully I was able to procure one this week to do a review on it just for you, our loyal readers. Sadly my original has fallen apart over the years, and some might say went rotten :(

So here we have SKY BANANA! One of my favorite transformers of all time. Not only is his Alt mode amazing, but it backs a potent yellow punch of potassium for every kid and/or adult!

Sky-Banana's Alt Mode

I mean look at the paint apps on this ALT mode.. it looks really battle worn, and ripe! The detail put into this diaclone was amazing, i mean way ahead of it's time for the 1980's!

Next we have the Bot mode.. for Sky-Banana.. this mode is to die for! But of course with any prototype it was lacking in a few areas of construction and detail.

Sky-Banana's Bot Mode

My major complaint about his Bot mode is the lack of eyes, and a mouth. I mean are we supposed to believe this behemoth of strenght and healthly dosage of vitamins and potassium could speak and see without a mouth and eyes to do so with?!

Well all and all I do love it. The detail is still amazing on the yellow bits.. and look how they use the kibble to complete the bot mode! Unreal. I recommend this figure to everyone!
Bravo!

It's impossible to get an MISB Diaclone Sky Banana due to a similar issue to "Gold Plastic Syndrome" known as "Actually Made From Banana Syndrome".

This is known to affect a lot of early Chinese-made toys which were constructed from bananas to keep costs down. Only when the switch was made to potatoes and later on, plastics, was the stage set for truly durable toys.

You see, I'm having a lot of issues with stress marks on mine. And getting it back into Alt mode... forget about it. Compelete shelf-former.

Agreed, when i recieved this Sky-Banana in the mail it was packaged in a freezer style bag with dry ice. so trying to display this bad boy is tough. But every once and a while i break him out transform him and enjoy the yellow awesomeness that is Sky-Banana! Ah the good old days!

i don't think you have the diaclone version Montana.. You may have the KO toys version, which had nothing but problems. I mean it's a knock off what do you want. Maybe i'll do a video review on this down the road.

Sir, you make a mockery of the honorable Sky-Banana.

No Sir! I am merely showing the original Diaclone Sky-Banana! ;)

Thumbs up for more food based transformers!

Oh and we need a "like" button just for what exillion said.

Theres a black and brown repaint of this guy floating around. But apparently the mold was also changed a bit for cost and hes just awful. Doesnt stay together, paint is inconsistent, kibble falls off with ease. Just awful.
