Pictorial Review: PCC Heavy Tread - This is heavy, Doc!

American retail stores have abandoned Generations, RTS, HFTD, and PCC because the release of the painfully underwhelming DOTM line is nigh. However, all of those glorious end of line figures seem to be appearing all over the UK and Australia.

Last week, I traded a Generations Thunderwing for a PCC Heavytread and Groundspike. These two are the last PCC figures I will own since I now have all of the ones I wanted and the line is ending, but man did it ever go out with a bang. The last wave gave us Constructicons, Dinobots, Undertow, and a hell of a beefy tankformer!

Heavytread himself is amazing, but his Mini-Con partner, Groundspike, is well... he sucks. His weapon mode is a weird claw thing. Admittedly he is awesome as a deadly cow pusher on Heavytread's tank mode, but he just looks weird with his blade arms...

He looks like he's wearing some tan swimming trunks.

Another problem I have is the plastic. Already I've got some stress marks on hinge joints showing up on Heavytread and he feels hollow. All of this of course can be forgiven because of his epic combiner torso head sculpt.

Seriously, that is a classic Transformers head sculpt. That is the sort of sculpting that makes fanboys weep. It is beautiful.

He's shown up in the UK? Nobody informed me! I must now go outside and fire my butler. I'm sorry, I meant "fire at my butler."

Yar! Sharp-O from the FMH forums traded him to me, so he would be able to tell you where to find Heavytread.

It breaks my heart that none of the stores in my area have even attempted to carry any of the Generations figures since drift and absolutely none of the RTS figures. Looks like im going shopping on the internets

Also Groundspike's tank-braces mode is a solid lesson in being brutal.

Apparantly people have found Heavytreads and Skyhammers at an unkown chain of newsagents. Damn I wish I could walk into my corner shop and see that bad bot hanging there.
